How to Block Websites in Mozilla Firefox

Blocking website in Mozilla Firefox is an easy task through a third-party add-on called BlockSite. This add-on is free and available on internet. The BlockSite extension can block the sites that have been added to it. It can block all the links from the added website through showing unwanted content. The BlockSite has password protection facility to protect unwanted changes by others.

1.      Open Mozilla Firefox, click Firefox from the top left corner and then click Ad-ons. For the previous versions of Mozilla Firefox 4.0 you will get Ad-ons button by clicking Tools. Click Get Ad-ons and then Browse All Ad-ons. Type BlockSite in the search box after the Mozilla Firefox Ad-ons website opens and press Enter.

2.      Click Add to Firefox button for the BlockSite. Allow the Ad-ons and then click the Install Now button. Restart the Firefox.

3.      After restart Firefox got to Firefox, then click Ad-ons and the click the BlockSite Preferences button. To Enable BlockSite, Enable warning messages and Enable link removal you need to make sure the Blacklist radio button is ticked.

4.      To keep your personal setting safe from others user you can use a password. Check Enable authentication and then enter your password to do so.

5.      To enter the site you want to block, click the add button, enter the URL and click OK. You can add another site in the same way or you can delete the list by clicking the Clear button. Once the list of blocked sites is complete, restart Firefox.
